In her landscapes Susan is inspired by the nature of light, shadow and season and its interaction with humanity and architecture. 
She takes pleasure in the portrayal of rust and decay.  “I find beauty in reality, not realism but what life really looks like. The majority of our society is not made from runway models and shiney new things. Blemishes and decay are the patina of life.”
